I’m a fairly new modeler, looking to expand to cover a number of different subjects. I’ve tackled a number of planes (all 1:48), the Hudson Hornet kit from Moebius, and for my next project I’d love to get into WW1 fighters.
From the research I’ve done trying to get a handle on this I’ve got a number of questions. Where do I order EZ Line? Should I make the jump up to 1:32 for simplicity sake? Is there a recommended model or brand that I should look at? And the world of rigging looks more like surgery than actual modeling.
I’m really excited to make this jump to a decidedly different area of modeling, but could use a few signposts along the way. Thoughts?

Should I make the jump up to 1:32 for simplicity sake?- =I would say yes to that one. You may have higher part counts but being 1/32 scale many of the smaller ones will not be microscopic. Since these aircraft are smaller in size, a finished 1/32 model will not be too much bigger then some 1/43 scale aircraft from different eras. I’ve only ever built kits from Wingnut Wings so can’t comment on anyone elses but you will be hard pressed to find better. They are truly wonderful. They sell the EZ Line too.
Welcome Josh! Glad to have you aboard. I agree - WingNut Wings are about the best WW1 kits you’ll find - they’re brilliant and lots of fun to build. Just make sure you go slow and careful. As for EZ Line, I know of 2 sources (one already mentioned):
