[:D] hi ,i have the italeri puma kit, have not built it yet,but it looks not to bad a kit.the box says,Puma heavy armoured car ,sd.kfz.234/2,is this what you want?[:D]

I think I picked that one up as a Tamiya rebox (???) while in Okinawa. At least, I seem to remember it being in a Tamiya box…Still, it’s one of the few German armor kits that caught my eye, besides the 251 series halftracks. Haven’t gotten around to building it just yet, but it looks like a decent kit. I hope you find one.

I built the Italeri Puma and I think it is a quality kit.Go for it.

thanks for the advice from all. gonna go to the craft shop on camp stanley here in korea and order it today . it will probably be the last model i build ever .cause i got an actual life and ole lady and 3 daughters with things to do back in the states. got 57 days left on my third tour here in korea, and this has been probably the most boring tour in my 21 years in the army yet . made some tanks back in 95 -96 my second time here . needles to say my family cat had a strange fascination with chewing on them in the early hours of the morning and so this tour back here this time ( my 1st and only staff weenie job ever g-3 training for 2ID) i have had alot of extra time on my hands here,so i built a tiger mid version , a king tiger production turret and brought these 2 home back in dec for mid tour leave (and put them on a shelf out of reach of elmo the plastic chewing cat) my 3 daughters where amazed looking at them cause they where young when i had models in the house before. ages now 13 10 and 6. any ways since i have been back from mid tour i have built a panther g (that my wife and daughters bought me at a hoobby lobby for christmas) a 88mm flak 36 , sdkfz 251/1, sdkfz 7/1 flakvierling 2cm and just completed a panzerkampwagon IV ausf h (minus all the plates ) so i want to make this puma and stop with 8 good models that can go on a proper display shelf. once i get home for good ( out of reach of the cat that eats plastic) im gonna get some help from some of the majors here in the land of torture cubicles (the office) and post pictures of them all soon on the armour forum. they are all tamiya kits and the puma will be the first kit i have ever made outside of a tamiya hopefully sometime in late apr or early may . i have a 2 ID contest to enter on the 15 of apr and will be entering 5 models already mentioned that i have now and are allowed to enter for the contest. then hopefully i can place in the top 3 and be allowed to go to 8 th army in yongson on 29 apr . the thing that puzzles me about the contest here. is that you can enter 5 models in a catagorie ie 5 cars , 5 planes, 5 armour 5 ships ect, ect, ect. but i dont understand how they can judge a tank versus a plane or whatever and come up with the top 3 individual models out of all ? oh well it will be something for me to do anyway . now for the big shocker of all. everyone of my models is 100% hand painted. stay tuned for the pictures.
thanks for the advice on the puma and i cant wait to get it as it will be the last build probably for a long time

Just a little about the Italeri Puma, which I’m building right now. The fit isnt great, the upper and lower hulls dont exactly fit together and the top has to be squeezed together to fit. But,I built the 234/3 by Italeri, essentially the same thing except different gun and it turns out to look fine

I did the Italeri kit earlier in the year. It’s not a bad little kit, kinda sparse but then again it’s an Italeri. I got it for like $10.00 from a Squadron sale and it just begs for AM. I didn’t go that deep on that one but am keeping my eye out for another sale and will build another with all the bells and whistles. It’s worth getting!!

Looks like I’ll enjoy making this one eventually. You’ve got a great build there, STUG61. What AM would you suggest getting for this kit?

I’m not too sure yet, I still have to check around. I’ve always liked Eduards though. I just checked on what’s out there. Both Aber and Eduard have sets at $15.95 at Great Models. Just by the picts it looks like Aber is more in depth.

The 234 series vehicles were fairly popular amongst the aftermakert manufacturers. Two manufacturers come to mind for fidelity of detail though: Aber and Royal Model. The Aber sets are all PE, with one set dedicated exclusively to the side doors, to include PE padlocks. The Royal Model set has resin replacements for the wheels and the like, along with some PE bits as well. They aren’t cheap, with the Royal Models set easily costing over double what the kits themselves cost nowadays. But such is the price to pay for super-detailing I guess.

If you’re really into the 234 series, MMiR did a series of super-detailing articles on a couple of the versions a few years ago. The guy put something like 300+ (probably more) parts onto the Italeri kits each time to trick them out. The models looked absolutely fantastic.

Here are some nice wheels i am adding to my armord car.
