Writing to soldiers

For anyone who may be interested in learning about writing to a soldier to support our troops in that way, check out http://adoptaplatoon.org/

I would encourage anyone who can to participate. Even if only sending a simple letter saying hello or even a small package would be greatly appreciated by our soldiers. It would mean a lot.

Also, you can contact your local chapter of the VFW and they should be able to provide information on how you can support our troops overseas.

If you’re considering sending items to our troops, please read this letter: ITEMS to Send to Deployed Troops

I used to send care packages to some random soldier every Christmas. But since 9/11 the companies that did this have been told they can’t do it anymore.

I appreciate the link. It would be nice to do something for some young person who is guarding the gate for our country. I’ll give it a go.

You know, I remember hearing something about that but I forgot about it. Even if you can’t send a care package, a simple card that says hello and offers a couple words of encouragement would also be received with appreciation.

Maybe even cut out a handful of Dilbert cartoons and stick them inside. [;)]

Thanks guys,
I know my soldiers appreciate everything people like yourselfs do for the guys overseas. I just returned from Kosovo and to see the smiles on soldiers faces after patrolling the mountains was amazing. Being an NCO its my job to help the soldiers under me understand that what they do is needed, people like yourselfs help me with that job no end.

Again thankyou all for your support.

Dilbert cartoons… I have not been in the military, but I’ll bet someone who has been, and has a mind like the Dilbert creator, could come up with some pretty funny stuff that military folk could especially relate to. Maybe its already been done. Not to say sending Dilbert as is, is not a good idea, it is. Just struck the other thought.
