Now thats my kind of build. Here where I work theres some planes out here in this bone yard that i wish i could take and refurbish, but thats only a dream.[V] Thanx for the great site. Bryan
That’s not just some guy, that’s Jerry Crandall! [;)][:p]
Nice to see 'ole Yellow 10 getting a more accurate paintjob after all these years…
Fade to Black…
my only concern is did he use acrylics or enamel? How will the future take on this bird. Hope he had the foresight to drybrush the cockpit. Wonder if he will build it gear up or down? My God, what scale is that? Must be a new Trumpeter build. Oh those panel lines. Did he get an aftermarket kit from Verlinden? Must have used masking tape for the seatbelt. Oh boy, hypodermic needles for the guns. Does anybody know what the interior cockpit colors were on these? What about the wheel wells, same color?
uh…WOW
joe
That is wild…

Well, someone’s gotta paint the real thing!!!
Hmmmm… wonder if Hobby Lobby will have any of those in their 1/2 off sale??? (and wonder how many people you would run over in order to be the first one there when the doors open?)
Yes… Jerry Crandal… produced some incredible artwork over the years, many that are signed by the subjects represented.
Take care,
Frank

Looks like a beautiful restoration job. There is a company in Germany, Flugwerke
that has the “Butcherbird” back in semi-production. Check it out!

That would be fun project. Mocking up a full size plane for a museum exhibit. Or hanging my game room. 'course that would require a big house with a game room. And that would require winning the lottery. And that would require actually buying a ticket… oh yeah the wife. Museum exhibit it is.[:D]

Who’s Jerry Crandall?
Nonetheless, thanks for the pics
now we can copy that for our d13’s and laugh at the guys who dont have that scheme, because theres a FULL SIZE MODEL of it now!
yeah im an accuracy and detail nut
Hey I think your right! See the fuselage shape is all wrong and look at that rivet count on the wing, boy I tell ya! [:p]
Wow I know what I’m going to do if I ever win the lotto… thanks for the look.
Jerry is one lucky man. Wish I lived closer to volunteer my services.[:D][:D][:D]
Well, I did have the chance to partecipate to a restoration project like that.[:)]
With Gruppo Amici Velivoli Storici (Association of Friends of Historical Airplanes) I helped to restore an Italian Airforce Spitfire IX which is now in Italian Airforce Museum at Vigne di Valle close to Rome. It was a truly amazing experience for a high school student !!
Ciao,
Max
