Wow, Did Not See This Coming - The End of An Era at FSM

I watched FSM Weekly last night and was surprised to find that Aaron Skinner is laving FSM for a job in the modeling industry. https://youtu.be/wRw2eKkzhI4?si=w_BJGXD4cOh-ItpQ

Needless to say that was a big surprise, but it sounds like a great opportunity for him. As a longtime Finescale subscriber (going way back to the last century), I have gotten so used to his presence at the magazine that they will be forever linked in my mind. I was fortunate enough to meet Aaron at a few AMPS and IPMS shows, and was a real pleasure to speak with him about the magazine and the hobby. All the best Aaron, thanks for decades of entertaining and informative reading, and more recently, viewing.

Ditto, in spades. You will be greatly missed, mon ami.
The only consolation is that Round2 seriously ROCKS, and it’s exciting to imagine what treats their new director of model development may be able to come up with!

It was Aaron’s tutorials that helped me to not only get back into the hobby, but improve my skills as well. I owe much to his contributions to the hobby during his time at FSM.
I look forward to discovering the kinds of awesome he brings to the hobby via his new role at Round2!

I’ve read an Aaron Skinner article and/or watched an Aaron Skinner tutorial video pretty near every day since I re-discovered the hobby 15 months ago, and will continue to do so. Heck, did both just today. Thank you for the educational material, Aaron. I’d be lost without it. If there’s such a thing as a scale modeling hall of fame, you need to be inducted.

Good luck in your new endeavour.

Cheers,

I always looked forward to his FSM episodes. He’s as nice and funny IRL as in the videos.
