if the planes that are listed on the spread in the Time special issue of “D-Day- 24 Hours that Saved the World” actually flew?? What I mean is they got the armament all wrong LOL They have the P-38 listed as having 4 machine guns and 4 cannon, the P-51 as having 8 machine guns and 2 cannon, the Fortress with a 12,800 lb bombload, and the Spitfire with up to 8 machine guns and 4 cannon…someone didnt do their homework [;)] The 3D art is kind of cool though…
I suppose they had laser guns too? and the ground soldiers had light sabers?
Maybe they got their info on history from watching Animal House. Remember Brother Bluto’s inspirational speech? “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?!”
How much you want to bet that none of the people on the Time staff responsible for that article are model builders?
Eric
They might have gotten that info from old articles out of their archives. I have a lot of WW2 issues of both Time and Life and you’d laugh at how “exaggerated” the specs were of our weapons. They probably made things sound bigger than they were to support the propaganda effort.
One more example of why reading the “news” isn’t worth it…other than for humor.[;)]
