What do you guys think?
well the Tiger and Panzer 4 H are newish kits and the other 2 are v ery old
are they worth the money? i woudnt buy them and you yourself think its too high
well you already answed your Question
it is in Austrailian Dollers but im sure the sellers loves the free advertising of his sale
At about $25 per kit U.S. it’s not bad, considering when you pay $25 to $35 for a Tamiya kit, even on line. Check these auctions closely though. It says at the bottom he’ll only ship to Australia. You also have to consider shipping when you use E-Bay. Some sellers charge a lot. When I see lots like this I try to break it down to what it ends up costing per kit, including shipping, and decide if that price is what I’m willing to pay. You also need to be real careful about the denominations of the prices shown. British Pounds do not equal U.S. dollars. I almost burned myself and paid about $65 US for an etch mate which was listed in pounds. You can get them on any on line store for $50. Luckily somebody out bid me.
I would consider it high. Retail on the 4 kits is only $129.50 and on-line pricing is less than that. Add to that the cost of shipping from Austraila, and possible customs and it could get way up there.
Pete, I think you misinterpreted one thing, though. I think on the shipping he means it’s $15 in Australia only, but that he’ll ship world wide.
Yup, the price is now more than retail. You’d be better off going online and buying them.
I buy and sometimes sell frequently on eBay, and I have found that you seldom really get a great “deal” on anything…many hobby shops/model dealers actually increase their retail prices on kits from their website prices in order to cover extra ebay fees, PayPal fees (which can be significant) and other costs (and they will generally readily admit to this)…the only real advantage to making the transaction over eBay from such companies is that you get a Feedback Rating out of the deal.

I dont really get my kits from ebay too much for some reason I just dont trust it as much. I dont think thats too bad of a price. I would probably pay for it but thats cause Im such a model junky. [:D] I pretty much just stick with the hobby stores myself.
I’ve had pretty good luck with eBay generally–slightly off the armor topic, but I recently bought a Banner 1/350 scale USS Arizona with a complete set of White Ensign photoetch for $50–about the price for the PE alone. It’s just important, I thing, to be aware that you can’t assume you’re getting any great deal. You can find some hard-to-get accessories and PE on eBay, and occasionally some rare kits (the Early Tamiya Tiger I Otto Carius Edition, discontinued, was recently offered for less than $30 on eBay!). Caveat emptor.
The only kits I buy on ebay are ones that I know are out of production.
At this point I’m happy to have the opportunity to buy something rare so I don’t mind paying a little extra for it.
In my opinion I would say no. Again that is my opinion.

AUD is fairly comparable to CAD, so in that respect, it’s not a BAD deal per se, but it isn’t good either. If you are used to buying kits brand new, and paying the outrageous Tamiya prices (at least here they are) then it’s not bad.
