what i found out works best is a small computer desk they run from 30-60 dollars and u can get them at wal-mart , kmart or any store that has a mart to it. I got mine at Ames for 40 dollars
its big and has shelves to put all sorts of stuff on. Hope this will help your modeling and practice makes perfect.
I just downloaded and built the workbench at the link below. It is great, the plans are $5.95 and come in a pdf file.
The instructions are clear and concise. The bench looks great and is perfect for modeling or heavier work. I finished it with 3 coats of poly. I have about $70.00 in material and a weekend to build it but it is worth every cent.
The bench is designed to be sturdy, but you can take it apart if you need to move. I don’t see me needing any other bench.
I have a set up that I like. Unfortunately I don’t have a digital camera or a place to post pictures. It’s pretty straight forward though…
I built a work table which is about 60" x 30" x 30". It has storage under the table top but it’s far enough back that I can belly up to the table without banging my knees. I use this table for all my construction. All my tools and paint booth are included on the table. I have a large bulletin board on the wall directly behind the the table and I post plans, photos, whatever on it.
I have spot lights over the work area to make sure I have plenty of light to work with.
Right now I have a large board sitting on a box that I use for my build up area. This spring I’m going to build a nice table to replace this. I think it’s important to have a place where you can put your sub assemblies while you’re working on other things.
I have magnetic strips on the side of my paint booth where I hang many of my tools. I have an organizer where I put small parts.
The important thing is to think about how you go about your construction and put together something that compliments your process.
