Work bench updates

Now I know I have not been doing a lot of updates on my builds recently and I don’t have a lot of pictures at the moment but here’s what’s going on:

The P-51 project is having decals placed. I will be printing the tail codes Monday - I’m using the Testors decal kit and the paper needs to be pressed flat for a day before it can run through the printer without jamming. Lost one page that way already. Once decals are finished it’ll get a little weathering and then the display base gets put together. The plan is to present it to Col. Smart in July.

The SB-2 ‘Little Katie’ is moving along also. I had to open the fuselage seam at the nose and insert shims to widen it so the nose glazings would fit properly. The dash was so oversized I had to basically rebuild it before it could fit in and some putty work has gone on.

Two on the bench is not enough so I started an Arii 1/48 Ki-44. This is an interesting little kit and so far is going together fairly well.

It does have some issues around the wing trailing edges but nothing insurmountable.

All of these can be seen on my site - the Ki-44 is today’s update and I’ll be updating the other two builds over the next few days. Course once the weather turns nice in Ohio again I’ll be out working the gardens and modeling will slow down.

Cant wait for the pics from the P-51 swanny, the ki 44 looks nice too.

Good thing the Japanese used seat 'chutes; that stick position could bring a new understanding to the term “Christmas Goose”![:o)][:o)]

Looking good so far. Hope to the Stang photos soon as it’s done.

the pit looks good swanny. cant wait to see more of the birds in progress.
