Wood putty for ship hull

I am building a Billings tug with plank over bulkhead and am finding that I need filler to smooth the hull.
Can anyone suggest a good solution?

I have been using Aves Apoxie Sculpt to smooth out my hull, which included adding a bit of volume. Milliput can probably be enough to fill in some space between planks, too. Or even a good old Mr color surfacer 500 ( and higher for finer scratches )

None of those take stains though, but I assume you’re going to paint that hull so it shouldn’t be an issue.

I’m still learning as I go, though, watching youtube videos of masters who don’t always quite explain the steps ( including how they fill their gaps, assuming they even have any lol ).

Thanks for the tip. I think I am going to need a lot of fairing, so I am now looking at wood fillers like Gorilla and Minwax

Dap Plastic Wood. Can be worked with a little water. Drying time is reasonable and sands nicely. Non-toxic too.

sounds better than Gorilla to me. Thanks
