Always loved the Mohawk. Want to get both of the Roden offerings as soon as my fiancee lets me [V][V].
Great pic of the eye in the sky. I’ve got the Roden kit, the Eduard detail set & some Two Bobs decals waiting for me to get off my duff & go to work.
Regards, Rick
I like that plane.

Hate to say it, but that is one ugly bird. Please don’t think I’m being a contrary idiot. I just never liked the look of the Mohawk. I’ve always been a Bronco man myself. It is a good action shot, however. I love the angle the photographer caught it at. Thanks again, Steve!
Well, I’d have to agree with you, you contrary idiot! It is kind of an ugly bird. But neat all the same…
In case you can’t get enough, here’s some more!!! [:p]

And there’s this beauty that’s still flying the warbird circuit… you never know, you might be lucky enough to bump into it at your next airshow!!

Good one Wolf!!! I’ll bet he never says,"that’s an ugly plane ", again. I’m dyin’ here!!
Jerry
Oh, I’m sure he’ll stick to his guns and say something to that effect!
Heck, even though I’ve sought out a buncha images of this thing I still think it’s ugly! But then I rather like ugly planes just as much as sharp lookin’ planes. However, I tend to think of it more as ‘character’ than good or bad looks.
I do have to say that the Bronco is much easier on the eyes…

I am stickin’ to my guns. It’s butt-ugly. It didn’t stop me from saving some of Wolf’s pics to the old hard-drive though.[;)] Now all we need is a brown Caribou and we’ll have a proper flock of turds. [:p][:(!][xx(]
Thanks again, Steve
I couldn’t have said it better. There are many planes that don’t have “sex appeal” but get the job done in good fashion. The A-10 comes to my mind immediately. Nowhere near the prettiest plane around, but coming from an Army Combat Arms perspective, none I’d rather see. If I had been lucky enough to be a pilot for the Air Force, I’d have been proud to be a Hog driver. Mohawks, Broncos, and others will never win any awards for looks, but if they get the job done, I will admire them.
Hey Steve,
Nice pic…not certain that I’d want to build something as homely as that though.
How about scrounging up some nice pics of an EA-6B Prowler or A-6E Intruder…I have both on the shelf and at the rate I build it will give you about 6-7 years to find some decent pics…
RODC…
LOL to each their own. I don’t know why I like the Mohawk, I know I also like the Bronco second to the Mohawk in the observation category of aircraft. Just like the Warthog is my #1 choice for the attack category.
The pics of the airshow bird: Is that the one being flown by the Sky-Soldiers for their re-enactments? It must be pricey to keep in the air.
I agree, it is rather ugly. Never been a big fan of it either. Still, those are some awesome pics of it. Thanks for 'em.
I will see what I can find for you guy. What kinda stuff you lookin’ for? Anything and everything?
How are you and the missus doing, by the way?
Could be… I don’t know if the plane in the pictures above is the only one flying in the US. I pay more attention to the WWII warbird scene than the more modern stuff. And it sure ain’t cheap to keep 'em flying. If it were, I’d have a few Hawks out at Buffalo… [;)]

Steve,
Very pretty pictures of a very ugly airplane. As said above, actions count much louder than looks. Recce birds gathering intelligence, CAS birds kicking butt for the grunts, FACs controlling it all, etc. They are beautiful to the guy on the ground when they save his A _ _ from the bad guys.

Nice Mohawks…
Flaps up, Mike
Love the Mohawk
STEVE-O,
As for the pics…I guess anything and everything…I just love those planes…must have been the Flight of the Intruder Movie that brainwashed me. More interested however in good photos showing painting schemes. the lo-viz stuff to me is boring and I am actually quite partial to the old white over gray Navy schemes from the 70’s & early 80’s?
Thanks for asking how we are doing. I find that if I get out of the bed in the morning, then it is going to be a good day. Matthew will be gone 3-months on the 28th and I have to go to court on the 29th to see if the B*****D who killed him will fess up to his crime and plead guilty. If not, me and my wife are probably looking at close to 2-years of court proceedings. This guys is ex-military police, 27 years service…you’d think he’d have some sprinkle of honour wouldn’t you!!!
Everyday is a struggle for us, but kind words from people such as yourself, helps! We have finished a website in his memory which is constantly being updated (so I guess it will never be finished)…

That’s about it for now…have my CL215 painted and mostly assembled. Will hopefully get some decs on her this weekend and hopefully new pictures a little later.
Until next time…and thanks…
Rod
That’s a great site Rod…
Nothing I can say that I didn’t say over at the other forum. I obviously didn’t know Matt but I hope you don’t mind that I put the ribbon in my signature…
I’ll see what I can find for you on the Prowler and Intruder, guy…
