Here’s a pleasing shot of a pretty bird…
Spitfire Vc AR501 from the Shuttleworth Collection. I guess this is the only Spitfire still flying with an original de Havilland three blade propeller. AR501 had been restored as a clipped wing variant but in 2000/2001 was fitted with the elliptical wingtips, returning the aircraft to the condition in which it was delivered to 310 Squadron.

Fade to Black…
Aaahhh, the sweet sound of Merlin in the early morning. Nice pic of the Spit.

Great pic of a beautiful aircraft. Thanks for the Post.

Awesome pic Steve… ditto on the sound of a Merlin… there’s nothing quite like it.
No fair. Never heard a Merlin. Man, I’m deprived. Great pic. [tup]
Yes, the beautiful Merlin! I had the fortunate experience to go to an airshow in Feb and listen to 3 Mustangs fly around, with the Merlins roaring away! Just lovely!
Cheers,
John
[#dots] You’re not making me feel any better. [:D]
Beautiful pic as always steve. Everytime I see a Spit, I think of that video clip of the Spit scaring the [censored] out of that reporter. Bryan
Beautiful picture Wolf, thanks for sharing!
