Fade to Black…

Now them’s is some purty birdies. Great pic, Steve.

One hell of a tight formation!

This looks like one of them WWII German experimental wingy thingy’s!!!
Nice shot, Steve.

I have an uncle who used to work on Corsairs. Maybe that’s the reason they’re one of my favorite carrier planes. There was a very interesting story he told about one crewman who (somehow) got himself and one particular aircraft convered in aviation fuel, and didn’t realize it. Anyway, this unfortunate fellow decided to start this particular aircraft. For those of you who are unfamillier with the starting procedure, it involves using an explosive charge to get the motor turning.

I’ll let you follow this train of events to its logical conclusion. [:O] [;)]

The guy was alright. I’m not sure if the airplane survived, but I’m sure somebody wasn’t happy with this guy flaming one of his Corsairs!

I wasnt aware the corsair was called a hog. But I love it nontheless. Takes me back to the days of watching “Black Sheep Squadron” on the History channel

The only thing prettier than a Corsair is three of them. Nice tight formation. Thanks for the picture.

Darwin, O.F. [alien]

Nice pic, I noticed that the corsair on the left is a marine one…cool pic all the same

Really nice pic, Thanks for posting it.

I was at home about a year or so back and heard the roar of an airplane, which in itself isn’t unusual since I live under the glide path for Wright-Patt. This sound though, was unusual. I hopped up and went to my deck to take a peak. There, flying overhead was a Corsair, being shepherded by what appeared to be a Cessna, maybe a 172. I honestly didn’t pay much attention to the Cessna, other than to note how much bigger the Corsair was. It dwarfed it! At any rate, I stood and watched as they flew west, and passed out of sight.
