I’ve decided to post images in the thread here again, the way it was in the beginning all those eons ago…
All the old links that were previously listed are dead, so I’ve removed them. Also, some of the images previously posted in this thread may be gone… I will try to restore them if and when I can.
The PoTD Webpage is still up, but I probably won’t update it… at least not any time soon. But for those who weren’t around back when I was posting regularly, take a looksee if you care to: Wolf’s POTD
I’m taking requests once again, so if there’s something you wanna see give a hollar here in the thread.
However… I’m concentrating more and more on US types, and specifically USAAC/USAAF stuff. Much of my reference material for foreign aircraft is either gone or going bye-bye, and I may not be able to fill requests for, say, Luftwaffe stuff the way I used to. But all of the digital archives are still intact, and I am scanning a bit from books and rags before they’re sold. So ask away… worst I can say is ‘I dun got it no mo’…
For those who recall the ETO Forums… they’re gone… sadly…
Great idea to make this sticky! I get to sneak in this forum only during lulls in the office and this is not everyday. Now I can easily check on the Picture of the Day. Thanks a lot to Blackwolf for putting this up. I really enjoy this just like the photofiles before.
Yes - many thanks for the photos - by the way note your apparent interest in Sherlock Holmes - but I am not sure that there are (were) 17 steps at No 221B and the Master would not approve of such inaccuracy- which I have to say seems also uncharacteristic of you - you come across as very very precise!
You’re quite welcome, and I have more than a mere interest…
Perhaps you should read ‘A Scandal in Bohemia’…
There were seventeen steps leading to the first floor from the ground floor, although there were undoubtedly more than seventeen in total throughout the building…
Hi Wolf. thanks for sharing with others those beautiful pictures. I am a fan of jet aircrafts and I must say that I really enjoy going into FSM Forum to look at what is your next surprise.
Hey Steve-O, thanks for all the great pics, really awesome stuff. I was wondering if you had any photos of a p-38j ‘st louis blues’ as i have a sheet for this plane but cant find any references. its superscale sheet 48-858, also has one called ‘black market babe’. really appreciate it if you have any info or pics on these 2 planes!
Hey Steve-O,
Somebody mentioned a photo of the “Enola Gay”, if you want the next time that I vist ya, you could always post my Pix…
By the way, Henry who was stationed on Tinian Island, is going back for a Reunion with is old Sqd.
If I am not mistaken, he was in the same grp as the Enola Gay. The next time I am over at my Aunts house, I will have to drop by is place and chat with him…
Flaps up, Mike
