Greetings,
Have a few questions for all you experts.
Objective: I’d like to wire a acft kit for lights.
Questions: Where can I find information for:
wiring diagrams
LED’s, wire and other required components
examples of installing
Any suggestions from someone who’s attempted this before would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The only Aircraft that I build with lights was the old ROG Kit, also did their Police car & Fire engine.
I think maybe adding fiber-optics might be a good choice. [;)]
It depends on what you want the lights to do that makes the wiring more complex. If you just want to make the lights turn on, it’s just a matter of wiring up a few LED’s in parralel with a switch and battery.
Making the lights flash is a bit more complex, but definitely possible. You can make them using a few capacitors, transistors and resistors. There’s even a dedicated LED flasher IC (the LM3909) that only needs the LED and a timing capacitor (varying the cap value changes the flash rate).
I’ll have to have a search around for example circuits. Most of them are pretty simple and the components are readily available.
hope this helps.
if you can wait till next wednesday when i get back to singpaore i can send you mass wiring diagrams for all kindsa circuits from this book i have.
There was an aritlce in 2003 Nov issue of FSM that shows how to wire up a Klingon spaceship, perhaps that will help you out?
I’ve done a lot with lightsheet, LEDs, fiber optics and circut boards. I’d also be happy to offer any advice I might have for you. Can you give us a little more info on what it is you’re trying to accomplish?
