Wirecutters on armor models

Anyone know where I could find wirecutters, meaning the posts that protect passengers from decapitation? I’ve snapped enough plastic ones off the roofs of vehicles that I’d like to get some metal ones that would be stronger and less susceptible to fat fingers.

Welcome back to the forum,9 years !!!
Maybe someone doing 3-D printing,if thats the name, have you Googled 1/35 wire cutters

Xuron is my Go-To company for cutters, whether for plastic or metal.

That"s not what he’s talking about,he’s talking about something on the vehicles.

Best bet is to leave those sorts of parts off of the build until last steps… just like antennas…. Let’s just say that I’ve done the same thing myself more than a few times during various stages of construction.

I’ve never seen any for sale so I’m guessing some scratch building might be in your future. Good Luck.

Get some 1/16 inch brass angle (approx. 2-inch in 1:35 scale, 3/32 would be about 3.25 inches in scale)) and make your own as done in the field expedient applications. Bend as needed to make the wire snatcher and cut/file a notch for the cutter. Solder support legs as needed and superglue in place. You can add some weld beads or cast NBW fittings for attachment details

I reach back again to Shep Paine and one of his dioramas for Monogram. This was for the Jeep and 37mm gun kit.

Shep added the wire cutter that was commonly used on vehicles like that in the ETO, and he notes, “… *can be made from shaped brass, wood or plastic stock (available at hobby shop) or simply folded index card.”

Those are some more suggestions for scratching it.

Hope that helps!

Best regards,
Brad
