Since I’m almost done with my current build, I decided to start one of the other kits I currently have. I know its an older kit, but I figured why not try to breath some life into this thing. Its really light on parts which im ok with since this will be the 3rd kit ive put together since i started back about two months ago, still practicing and getting my skills back [H][H]
I built that kit about 6 years ago it’s a gem. Unfortunately your photos aren’t showing up.
It’s a real lightweight when it’s done. When I built mine, I superglued steel nuts into each of the four corners of the lower hull to make sure it didn’t float on the tracks.
I can’t see your photos either. I found one I had built over ten years ago, maybe closer to 20. It is a great little kit to just knock out and under $10 s a good starter kit.
Wow! A Tamiya kit for under $10.00. Can’t see your photos, but knowing you you’ll have this issue resolved in a very short time. I’m looking forward to this build!
Your friend, Toshi
can anyone see them? or are they not showing up at all? I know theres some postings for me where I cant see the photos but other people seem to be able to. I copied and pasted the photos to the text block, is there a better way?
I tried uploading again, they arnt even showing up for me now lol…
tanker, you are useing a photo hosting site i assume. You have to copy and paste the link into the insert/edit image tab.
Im not, I just copied the image then pasted it in the text block, ive done that before and it worked, now it doesnt seem to work at all.[:S]
It is an ancient Tamiya kit, one of their first, very small tank that is a mix of variants in one box. Originally designed to be motorized so the top of the hull can be assembled to pop off the lower hull to change batteries. Details are rather robust to survive handling. I originally bought it for my daughter who was getting into models in the early 2000s, but she had moved on to other interests. So I built it myself as a simple kit to just knock out quickly OOB.
I can’t see that it would work on this forum. It could be so in the avatar but not posts.
Try a free trial on Fotki. It isn’t free forever, but it’s not expensive and I find it fast and easy to use with no ads.
As GM said, it works for your Avatar but not posting pics in threads.
Yep, it works. I do dislike Photobucket - I used them exclusively until the debacle. Now I use Flickr (mostly) and Postimage. Both, to me, are far better than Photobucket but since it works for you, what does it matter?
Anyway, only having built one armor kit and with no armor experience/knowledge, I now like to lurk on the dark side from time to time. I think this is an interesting kit and will follow along intermittently.
Are those other sites free to use as well? Photobuckets UI in my opinion is terrible and its so cluttered with ads id gladely use a different sevice to upload.
You can tell this is an old kit, but for its age the detail isnt bad. Ill also be using hairspray for the first time to do my weathering effects so ill be curious to see how well itll look.
Tanker, not sure how you are managing to post pics from PB, but i would deffinetly try a different one. I am useing Flickr and yes it is free. take a bit of getting use to, but much better than PB IMHO.
small update, got all the road wheels completed and the turret put together. also threw in a pic of the Albion 3-point refueler i recently finished up.
Looks good!!!
I can see your photos just fine now.
BTW: I use Image Shack. Not sure if they’re the best but I’ve been using them for about a year so far. I don’t remember what I paid for my yearly subscription but it’s worth it to get away from the ads on PhotoBucket. When I last used it the pop-up ads were so bad the site was almost unusable.
Just about down to paint! decided to take a wack at sprue stretching and making weld seams since this kit lacks any.
Good practice run, I see it takes a bit of patience to really get them to look their best. When Igot down to the seams around the main plate on the front of the hull which was the last seams i did they turned out the best. I also have a sweet headache from the glue fumes [:S]. good learning process though!
