Hi all.
Here’s my Sd.Kfz.11 that I’m building to use my LeFH18 (still awaiting paint).
The base kit is the AFV Club Sd.Kfz.11 3t, with Aber detail sets and Hobby Fan Engine and detail set. This is my first attempt at using Photo Etch and Resin details, and I’m cerntainly learning alot as I go!!! I have to say, the hindges are driving crazy!!!
Looking forward to your tips and suggestions.
Anyway, here we go.

The chassis with transmission and Gas tank

The main cabin. Here I combined the kit photo etch with the Aber sets.

Test fitting of the Hobby Fan resin motor, radiator and shell storage compartment.

Reworking of the kit doors and p/e fittings.

thanks for looking.
Jurgen.
Looks good so far, can’t wait to see the finished thing.

Looks great!!! You are off to a great start. The only sugestion I can make is to get some “pin stripe” tape, (car modelers use it, it comes in different widths) soak it in paint remover to remove the glue. Then use it as a fan belt. I bought black, but color does not matter as it gets painted anyways. The left overs are good for rifle slings. OR You can use electrical tape. Lay a section out (glue side down in a straight line) use a ruler and a sharp exacto blade and cut a thin strip for the fan belt, again soak it in thinner (I use the cheap Testor’s stuff) than cut to length for a fan belt. Only difference between the two is electrical tape is thicker than pin stripe tape.
Best Regards,
Mark
Thanks Mark. Great tip!!!
looks good… I can’t wait to see the paint job…
lookin good man! Love the engine! The tape idea is awesome too!
Looking nice so far. I have one of them in my stash. I pity you though. Now you’ve started down the PE route, its an addiction you will never be able to kick. lol.
