First build of the year is of course a Jeep . Tamiya 1/35 scale using Resicast positionable steering and The Bodi top.
The steering was a bit of a challenge ,the resin tie rods were warped so I cut the ones off the Tamiya front axle. My mistake on that was cutting them into two pieces, next time I will leave them in one piece.
The Bodi top is rather nice , no real issues with putting it together , just have to make sure the back of the top meets the back of the body and the front meets the windshield . I came up a little short on that mark so had to take it apart and start over…
Here’s a few pic’s will post more when I start painting. Want to check out a few painting techniques be for I start.
Some photos of my progress on my build. With this nasty weather this winter found it hard to get in to any modeling.
The last pic is the unit codes that I will be using 442nd RCT 3Army camp Shelby MS. Now to search though the spare decals and to locate some blue drab numbers.
Some progress pics . Used decals from Hasegawa 1/24 scale kit for the front bumper, one of their kits has markings for the 442 regt so it saved some cutting and placing of some individual numbers.
Now to tackle the left bumberette and maybe do the A and dash over on the front bumber they look a little funny in the pic.
Sorry about the last pics bufflehead Maybe I should not try take pics with my bi focal glasses on. Then again it’s maybe time for a better camera .
Here’s the end result of my effort’s . I went through 4 left over and 2 unused decal sheets just to do the left bumperette .
I kept the weathering light since it’s a state side jeep.
The last pic is my choices for my next build. If I do the Has or the Tam I’m thinking of doing a trailer queen nice and clean and mounted on a trailer ready to go to a show.
