WIP Eduard 1/48 Bell P-39 Airacobra's-Completed

Oh trust me if you could see it up close you wouldn’t feel that way. There is plenty of mistakes, and flaws on both aircraft! You would think me being a women I could handle delicate little parts with ease…nope not the case with me, but I can rebuild a 350 SBC no problem. Lol.

Some nice work there, even at that scale that IP must have been a real challenge. Look forward to seeing more.

Very nice work so far, I might have to pick one of these up at some point. It’s amazing how these little parts are almost kits in and of themselves. I’ve been to the Studebaker museum as well Greg, only about 40 or so minutes away from me. I was pretty impressed with it too.

Now that most of the PE is out of the way, things are moving right along.

First mission was to get the nose gear on.

Then the canopy and doors. There was 4 pieces of PE for the inside of the doors, not too bad until you had to get the itsy bitsy door handles on there.

Then the prop blades.

The “D” model is just about done being painted. I brush painted it, 1 just because there was no way I was going to mask the landing gear off and not lose at least 3-4 pieces of tiny PE parts, and 2 I enjoy painting with a regular brush a lot more than with the airbrush. I’m rather pleased with how it came out.[:D]

Great job Keyda81! Fantastic brushing skills. Looks like it’s been AB.

Thanks! It came out looking better than I thought it would. The Q model is 3 different colors, the leading edge of the wings, and the tail are white. I’m going to spray those areas. I would probably need 10 layers of paint if I hand brushed it on. I’ll just have to remember to tack cloth it. I forgot on the D model and I had some black paint peel off when I pulled the tape from masking where the olive drab is on the nose.

The D model is done aside from doing decals. I’ve been working on painting the Q model. That should be done later on today, then I can put decals on both.

I love the black! I’ve always liked the lines of the P-39, and overall black really sets it off!

The P-39’s are done! I had a lot of fun building these two little birds. They are pretty much the smallest planes I have done. Now I have a little bit of history from my city in my living room.[:D]

The black looks awesome and I love how the white makes everything stand out on the other. Awesome job!

Beautifully done! I love both P-39’s. It’s always great to build something that has personal and historical value. You did a great job!

Good show!

Nice kit, aint they?!!!

I miss hunting season…it’s only been a week! Those three months go by way too fast! How’d ya do???

I only got out 8 times, but I brought three home. Got a double with the crossbow, and one with shotgun on opening day…freezer full, I didn’t go out again…completely skipped muzzle loader season.

Well done!

Thanks! I landed up with a doe this year. Hubby got a buck, and a doe, so our freezer is full as well. I don’t muzzleload at all, too cold for me by then, lol. I mostly go to spend time with hubby and my father in law, if I get into the woods, and get a deer that’s just a nice bonus.
