As a novice, I like this kit, but I sure have had some issues (user error of course). Don’t hesitate on constructive comments. I need them. I am blogging this on another forum. If you are curious as to the blunders I have made, you can find the blog here.
another one getting screwed by dragon’s wonderful instructions…
the armor on the engine grill is wrong. You need to sand off the bolts on the surface, then glue that mesh on top of it, not from inside. The stripes still go on from outside.
Thanks Rios. I learned that the instructions were wrong, but only after I got it together. To be honest, I left it as is for one reason… my skill set. I am afraid I would butcher it while trying to correct it. I plan on building another T-34 and will follow your advice on that build.
Dre, thank you much.
On another forum, it was pointed out that the screen has paint on it that needs to be removed I will work on that as well.
Initially, I didn’t think there was much difference between a 41 and 42. However, during your build process, I can spot numerous differences. Too bad about the grill, but you should nbe able to overcome it.
I built the same kit a while back : /forums/874686/ShowPost.aspx
I had a problem with the engine cover not fitting properly and had to add plastic strip around the hatch’s entire perimeter and sand for a good fit. Other than that & two ejector pin marks on each link, this was a nice kit and came out very well.
I hope the pics help you out and you can avoid blunders in the future. You’re on your way!
