WIP....Arleigh Burke 1/700

DRAGON 1/700 Arleigh Burke in progress…

This is my first Ship Model ever so I’m learning a lot…like how to drop tiny parts into the carpet.

I plan to add PE railings and some sort of rigging…sprue I guess.

More to come once I get closer to done.

From the deafening silence I guess thats code for “go back to making tanks kid.”

[sigh]

Looks good, cj.

Sprue rigging is a good way to go. Starts awkward; gets easier.

Hang in there.

Ahhhhhh, why not add to the pain and give photoetch a try? [:D] All kidding aside, since you’re learning anyway, photoetch can make the difference between a model and something that ends up looking like a pool toy - as I discovered when I dove back in after a 30+ year absence.

Your build is looking nice and clean so far (must be nice to have an airbrush?) and if you do decide to try rigging, go with stretched sprue to start. It’s cheap, you can make more when you screw up, and it is fairly durable. I color mine with a Magic or Sharpie marker - make sure you let that ink dry thoroughly before cutting the sprue to length.

This is a great first ship cj95, Well done. It´s good to change subject in what we building sometimes i believe. Waiting for your post about how it´s goes with the photo etc.

You’re doing fine, CJ. If you do choose to go the photoetch brass route, you’ll be amazed at the level of detail it adds.

[#ditto]

but just remember this your first foray into p/e is not going to be a party

so keep away from the beer and the caffeine (just while using the p/e that is) p/e requires a steady hand in that scale
