WIP AFV Club "Sturmtiger"

Here’s yesterdays start. I had read in the reviews that the rear deck was the tricky part so I got it out of the way first.

Until next up-date,Later Tony Lee[:)]

Two wip’s at the same time! Tony you player you![;)]

This is gonna be some build my friend[Y]

I go to eat dinner, and by the time I return you have another one going! Geez… looking forward to these builds.[:D[

[:D]Last winter I had these three going at the same time but i’m older and i’ve slowed down a bit.[:$]

Tony Lee[:)]

Tony,

Double dipping? You animal you![:D[ I like all the goodies you’ve gotten lined up to put into this one. Looks like I’ll be taking notes again (yup this too is in the stash, SWMBO got it for me for Xmas). It also looks like I’m gonna need a bigger bowl for the popcorn.[8-|]

Cheers

Dave

I’m really curious to see how that interior stacks up to the included-Tamiya interior.

OK, full disclosure–I added an AM transmission to my interior. I’m curious to see how much is included in that “conversion” set?

Cool beans, Tony. Gonna try the oil dot method on this one this time?! [:P]

Here you go Karl:

Tony,

Oh my GAAWD! A clear upper hull?!?

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!

Tell me that you’re going to use that?!!It would be SO COOL to do a build where you actually could see the entire tnterior from the outside!! WOW!

You could use clear glue, or little dabs of epoxy. Man, it would be a PITA of a build, but how unique that would be?!

By the way, that looks to be a whole lot more detailed than the Tamiya set. Man, that is really excellent!

Ok, you will have my full atttention on this build!

A clear top???

This will be interesting!

Oh Man, there’s no where to hide if I use that clear window to my world.[:D] I have thought about leaving the rear and one side clear. What do you think?

Tony Lee

I’m interested… can we see the parts for the firewall (lower rear of fighting room)?

Do you want advice on it?

David

Cool idea with the clear plastic. I think you have a good idea, so you can present it both ways if you’d like and still see some interior.

I too think that if you go with a partial use of the clear top vs. the 100% clear it will look sweet! Especially since that approach will allow you to paint and detail the interior and exterior and show a nice contrast between the two. Looking forward to this one Tony! [Y]

and some mood lighting!

“Mood Lighting”[:D] see what I mean, there’s one in ever crowd. I don’t know why I took a group shot of todays work when there are two different build blogs going. Construction of the SU-76 gun is done but i’ll need to check my refs to see if it needs any weld beads or missing rivets added. I installed the torsion bars, drive gear boxes and rear axles on the Sturmtriger too.

Looks like we got about 8 inches of snow and a warm sun today is melting some of it off, yyeeeaaaaaa.

I smell Tacos cooking[:P]

Tony Lee[:)]

You might regret installing those idler arms so soon; they control the track tension.

See http://tiger1.info/EN/TrackTension.html

David

I’m ahead of you there David, all I did was place the retaining collars on the shafts and not those heavy springs they give you.[Y]

Time to eat

Tony Lee

Cool looking good.

Just look at all that C****ASH a’ FLŌWTEN there…

Tony you probably know this, but DON’T use superglue on the clear plastic; it’ll fog it up.

Yeah I found that out back when I flew RC. I’ve got some Gator Grip I plan to use. Cash output ain’t to bad when you spread it out over a couple of years.[:D]
