wip- 1965 Chevelle

Hi guys,
new project Revell kit of the Z-16 with the bigblock 396

going for a factory stock look with it
the body is painted “poppy red”

Before you get any further along, You might want to turn the gearshift around as it’s on bacward’s. Other than that. it looks good[tup]

thats the way the shifter is suppose to be… like in the cobras.

if its the other way around it hits the seats.

Oustanding paintjob James, very good indeed

Awesome build you have going there James! [tup]

Do me err… yourself a favor though. Don’t downshift to hard or slam on the brakes.
That womans purse on the back deck will leave one heck of a welt on the back of your head. [:P]

If you don’t mind me asking…
How did you accomplish the nice flocking job?
Gloss black paint and carefully dust the flock?
Also how did you get such details for the guages?
My old eyes and shaky hands aren’t so good anymore to do freehand.

Something about the shifter and console has my old brain in a twist.
(Since my head injury, thinking isn’t my strong point anymore LOL [V])
It has been years since I cruised in such early iron, but something tells me it looks different.
The console looks kind of big for a Malibu, plus it seems to have the autoshift gear indicator to the right of the shifter. I tried to Google some pics and only came up with these =

Automatic

Standard w/bench seat

But really… who cares it still looks great! [swg]

for flocking I use “embossing powder” its a super fine metal dust. it works better then flocking IMO, and I can paint it any color I want.
just brush on some white glue and sprinkle it on.

the gauges are decals lol[:P]

to the right is the shift pattern

painted the exhaust pipes

Gee, I never would have thought of… thanks!

Uhm, lol ok [^]

I wonder if that would help my wife drive standard? NAH hehe

Nice looking exhaust.
Thanks for sharing the build process and tips with us. [:D]

completed chassis

some more progress today

completed bumbers

I’m in awe! [bow]

pretty much finished,
just need to add a few more wires in the engine and the hood latch plate, and repaint the hood I had to strip earlier lol
