WIP 1/48 Eduard Albatros D.III

Hey everyone, I’m building my first World War 1 aircraft and I love the model! I’ve gotten to that point where the oil paint has dried and I can continue with the build. The next big step is the rigging. I’ve read articles on Google as well as forums, watched YouTube, and looked at completed pictures. One thing that is common in all of these is that they use 0.5mm brass tubes for making the turnbuckles. I’ve already got the copper wire for the eyelets but for the life of me, I’m having a hard time finding these 0.5mm tubes. Y’all have any suggestions? I’ll be posting pictures of the build soon.

I have seen that size of tubing at Michael’s Craft stores before. It was in the area of craft supplies. Plus mscindustries.com is a good place for brass tubing

you can also stretch the plasti tubing from q-tips its amazing the hole stays open if you keep strait.

Albion Alloys should carry them. I have a set of miscellaneous sizes of brass tubes, but not sure if that size is in the set.

Cutting them is easy - just gently roll an X-acto knife over them on a cutting mat.
