Built for Dupes’ Winter Warriors GB, which is turning out some fantastic armor and planes within it’s posts. Thought I’d post up the final pics of the Tamiya Tiger I late version. Zimm is a bit off still, which was a great learning experience since I’d never attempted it. Wanted this to be a very worn winter Tiger. The hairspray technique was used along with Polly scale paint thinned with water, airbrushed the model completely then started removing everything that looked too “new”.
besides complimenting you on the quality of the build, first let me just tell you that the actuall photography was outstanding! Some of the best I’ve seen around here considering the depth of field involved. Whatkind of camera and lense did you use?
Now for the Tiger. Let me say I expected at anytime to see the loader throw out a spent case. Build just reeks with quality.
Disastermaster, good eyes, it’s now fixed. I also noticed the convoy (??) light on the rear wasn’t blue, which is now corrected as well. Funny how pictures reveal so much that’s been missed. Thank you for the help. The zimm work ought to improve next time around too, now that I’ve got more info to work with.
squeakie, Dre, the pics were taken with a Nikon “Coolpix” digital camera. Just sort of “close in” to the Tiger, if that makes sense? I’m afraid I don’t know very much about the finer side of photography, but the shots were taken outside this time. (Sort of redundant for me to say since the first shots have that background, huh?) You should have seen some of the earlier “yellow” pictures. I appreciate the comments and am glad you enjoyed the shots, and the Tiger.
[#ditto] everything all the other guys said, plus what I said yesterday in the GB. I have a total man-crush on your Tiger [(-D]…I think the outstanding photography really has a lot to do with it. Compared to some of the stuff you’ve posted before, these pics are just spectacular. I am a sucker for outdoor stuff, but hey. [;)]
Once again, great work! Glad you joined the build! [bow]
