Two week ago I went to the WOH airshow and thought I’d share some of the pix I took. I’ve been to many airshow, but this year was the best ever! To make a long story short, I got a hold of Thunderbirds VIP passes and had the best seats at Ellington Field(IMHO:)). I shot approx. 340 digipix and 10rolls of 35mm. Needless to say, I can’t post all the ones I think are worth it at once, so I’ll add a few each night. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. tonight I’m putting up an assortment to show there’s a little bit for everyone.
Those are great pics Eddie! I love the one of the F-16 in a tight turn with the vapor! I just loved listening to the F-16 when we had the airshow here in September. Its so loud and powerful! Man, I had goosebumps!!!

Great photos, Eddie. You have the touch with a camera. I’m envious that you were able to go, and thankful that you share the photos! I’m sure this years event inspired some “new concepts” for your future builds?..
I guess it’s only fair to put a couple more up for you This was the Texas Air Nat’l Guard. Every years they come in and do high speed passes in a curcuit until the fuel runs out. Unfortunately the F-16 will be gone next year. Replaced by Predators. Go figure:(
Thank you very much. I’ve been “shooting” for about 20 yrs and cut my teeth on the deck of CV-41 &CV-61, respectively. As a matter of fact, evertime I’m around aircraft, I get ideas;)
Here are some more in flight stuff. I’m a dinosaur at airshows these days because I still use my 20 year old 35mmSLR. LOL! I guess I’m most comfortable with it. I use a digicam for the static stuff.
Thanks Greg ! Actually, I refrain from talking about cutting up airplanes in front of aircrews. They get this “look” in there eyes and they seen to get a bit nervous;) LOL!

What you talking bout Willis??? GONE?? THE Fighting Falcon? THE VIPER??? GONE!!! FIRST THE TOMCAT NOW THE VIPER!!! Crap, so much for friendly skys, we are gonna get our butts kicked, whats next, the Eagle, Then how about we get rid of the Hornets and Warthogs and patrol the sky in a 747 jumbo jet and drop bombs with a cessna??? Stupid man… just stupid!
Perhaps I should have been clearer. They are redeploying the F-16 to another airfield and replacing them with Predators at Ellington in Houston. Doesn’t make much sense to me considering the size of the “targets” around the Houston Ship Channel.
wow…I cant wait! I’m planning to move to Conroe, Texas. We should be there in the next month. Next year I’ll be on the tarmac…the pictures are great could you post some more??
Thanks for the chest pains Eddie! Good to know they aren’t getting rid of the Viper, man, you got me worked up there. I thought they were gonna do away with all the proven tools and replace them with new, shiney ones!
