I just got back from the airshow down at Ellington Field and thought I’d share a few photos for anyone who’s looking for a bit of inspiration to build a model. Enjoy[:)]

That is one crazy paint job on that hornet. Thanks for sharing, its been awhile since I have been to an airshow and been able to get up close for some good pics of the awsome machines they have!

Nice pics Eddie, thanks for sharing them. I see Tarheel Hal in the flightline. Any chance you got some other shots if it? I am going to be doing a P-47 in the near future with those markings.

The show was pretty good. I had to leave my house at 0600 to get to Ellington for gates open at 0800. With no time to lose, I spent the first two and 1/2 hours shooting static aircraft. The show kicked off with the TX. ANG sending up 4 F-16s to do non stop high speed ,high performances runs down the flight line. They’d come ripping down the line and , in full afterburner, pull up and to the right, to run the circuit again. A few prop demos and then a F-4 flew to show how it was done old schooll![:D][8D] A C-17 did a very impressive demo also. Lots of Tora,Tora,Tora and flights of Allied aircraft. I got to see a Super Hornet for the first time and was very impressed by it’s performance. In all the airshows I’ve been to, this guy in the Hornet scared me for the first time, as I thought he was going to put it in the dirt. I’ve seen a few crashes and this guy was close, if you ask me. Either way, that pilot is good. I missed the Snowbirds because of poor film rationing[B)][:D] Plus,I’ve seen them before. Over all, A good show with a good variety of aircraft.[8D]

Dang I missed it again this year… had to go help my dad get into his house in Port Arthur and move some of the big stuff that was ruined yesterday… today of course I am too sore to go… [:(]

Good shots! Miss going to that show, last one was in '91. Occasionally hit the Miramar airshow, but it lacks the number of old warbirds that are my primary interest. But none the less an impressive show, which just happens to be the weekend coming up. Maybe I have something to do away from the models.
I thought I’d add a few more to give a better representation of what was there.
