I’ve read of people doing this with aircraft models. Using wings from one aircraft model for wings on another aircraft model. How hard is it?. I’m sure there are some modifications involved. I haven’t tried it yet but would like to attempt it with some of my aircraft models.
Kit bashing is what that is called. Here’s the finest example you’ll encounter- zipmeisters P-262C, the combination on an M2262 and a P-40.

What ever happened to the Me-40 heavy assault glider?
First proposed in 1942 as an escort to the Me-321 glider, the Me-40 was a heavily armed fighter, equipped with four 30mm nose cannon and underwing mounts for R4M rockets. It’s mission was simple: to glide in ahead of the Me-321s and clear the landing zone of enemy forces and destroy any obstacles to the landing of the gliders.

Swapping parts with another aircraft? Who would do such a thing?[(-D] Just kidding. I’ve done a couple myself. Here’s my idea of KC-135 wings on a B-17.[:)]

Thanks for the input you all. Right now I don’t any specific aircraft models in mind to do a swap or kitbash. Just have several I bought already built and some still in their boxes and wanted to build something different and unique. I’ve read in FSM I think of other modelers doing it but didn’t know how hard it would be. I’ll just have to dig in there and do it.
Exactly. I’ve seen a Hellcat with Corsair wings that was pretty impressive. There’s nothing you can do that can’t be fixed with sheet styrene, filler and some sanding sticks.[;)][:)]

I saw an article where someone took wings from a F-86D, put them on a F-86F and made a soft wing F-86. I’ll see if I can find that article.
