wing roots on 1:48 Revell A-10 Warthog

not the greatest kit by far but not the worst. What I am wondering about is whether these gaps in the ventral(under) wing roots are supposed to be open? The upper fit is good and the tabs make one set the wings as shown below.

Just don’t know whether to get out the styrene filler sheets or not, as this is a wide gap. [8-)]

Gaps are not supposed to be there

Bummer, but what I figured. [:'(]

Thanks for the comeback.

Jake, Not sure what happened, I don’t recall having that much issue with the wings. You might want to double check how the wings went together just in case.

Good luck, John

Thanks, John - I did take another look and the wing tabs are stacked right over left as described and fit the upper portions tightly except in front where there is also a little gap to fill. Don’t see what I could have done wrong but… that is me!

Darn !

I wish I could be the bearer of good news .My 1/72 plane had the same problem . I was building it for my daughter , who flew one . T.B.

Tankbuilder - boy, you cannot believe how relieved that makes me feel that it isn’t just me. Thanks for the info!

Path

If the wings are looking as they should. .then I’d glue them in .then fill the gaps with evergreen sheet starting with 40 thousand then work down in thickness till you close it up …after that if there is any tiny gaps …heat up some sprue .stretch to thickess of the remaining gap …fill then sand to shape. .I had to do the same on my mustang. See mustang GB. .

5-high

5-high - good advice and the work is in progress as we speak.
