Hi
I am busy with a 1/72 scale german airfield diorama. I was wondering if anyone had any info on what they used as wind socks on the WW2 airfields (if any) ?

Wind socks haven’t changed over the decades other than the materials they are made of. In the early days they were canvas. A simple cone shaped tube mounted on a pole. Google the term and look at images of them to help you create your own.
Hi - I have finished the diorama, complete with windsock ! Would love to have put a pic here for you but not sure how. Thanks for the tip.
Upload the pictures to an on-line photo-hosting site like PhotoBucket ot ImageShack first. No way around that, you can’t upload directly from your computer to here (dammit)… Then right-click on the picture you uploaded, left-click “Properties”, then copy the URL address of the photo when the Properties box opens. Then open the reply window here, click on the little film-strip icon at the top near the “smiley-face”, then paste the URL address into the box, then click “insert”. Then click “post” and you’re done…

Hi
Hope you can see the pic ! - Thanks for the help about the photos.
Yup… The only thing is that it’s on a pretty short pole… Pretty calm day I see…[;)]
Kinda looks like you got at least one guy, the officer in the foreground, lening backwards a bit too far though…
