Williams Brothers kits

After finally getting the 1/72 B-10 after many many attempts, of course without coughing up a ridiculous amount I started to focus on acquiring the 1/72 C-46. I’ve had no luck for a long time and just to waist time I was surfing the net for info or reviews on the kit to try and justify to myself spending a disproportionite amount of cash (considering what they are going for on evil bay). Low and behold will this put a damper on anyone thinking they were holding a mini-gold pot. A rare “one for the home team”. Now to just wait patiently for the releases.

Have you tried The Aviation Hobby Shop http://www.tahs.com/ UK based but does list Williams Bros. kits

If you like the aircraft and you can find one and it,s within your budget, get it. It builds into a very nice model. Finished mine in 1996 after it sat lin my workroom for umpteen years, like others that are in there.Decided to enter it in the 2006 Southeast Michigan Chapter of the I P M S contest held every year in my area, and it took second place in it,s category , Multi Engine 1939 / 1945. Done it up as an aircraft from the Air Transport Command 1943. The decals were from Microscale, probably hard to find now. The only drawback to the kit is the two section front winshield that joins at the center.Bad choice in planning out the model. Have to be real careful on cementing the two sections, filling the seam so the joint line wont show and careful polishing so the window framework is not lost. Very time consuming, but if done right it turns out great. I think the better alternative might be a Squadron Shop windshield. I believe they make one. The kit goes together real easy, but the plastic seemed a little soft. Not really a problem though. It is a good looking aircraft when finished. If I ever get around to taking a pic I,ll post it. Find one and get it if you can. I think you will like it.
