...will T34/85 tracks fit a SU122? I need replacements...please HELP!!!

Guys,

I tryed to “un-fold” my vinyl tracks for my T34 by putting them in hot water…unfortunately it was TOO HOT…they shriveled REALLY BAD[B)]!!! My fault, I was warned[#wstupid]. Anyway, I had to steal the tracks from my SU122. I want to buy Fruilmodel replacements but can’t find the exact match. I need to know if the T34/85’s will work. Those babies cost a pretty penny…anybody have a set they can part with[:I], for love of the hobby[;)], reduced$$$? They will be used in my “Winter Camo’ Tutorial”.

Short answer, yes. There are maybe three type T34 track. Early with smooth track link and the waffle type pattern that was later. The T34 85 track should fit fine. I have a set of Tamiya vinyl track if needed. Friule track would be set ATL-09 at about $44 plus shipping. Model Kasten track T 34 (1942 track) would be about $30. Gjek@aol.com Greg.

[:D] Try this.

The next time you get a set of contorted vinyl tracks, put them on top of your clothesdryer (guidehorns up) and leave 'em for a while as the dryer is used (several drying cycles over a period of time). If, at first they don’t want to lay flat, that’s OK… they’ll eventually relax and you can position them in the aforesaid position.

[tup] Works for me!

Maquette do a cheap set of indie links that dont look bad when finished much better than the one piece one’s anyway.

The Maquette tracks just require A LOT of clean up!!! You get what you pay for there. Yes they do look better than any kit’s one piece soft tracks.

If you are going to be buying the fruils, I’d try ebay. There are a couple of sellers that I noticed this morning retailing sets for about $30 to $35, and I’m sure I noticed several T-34 sets.

gjek,

I just received the tracks (and they are nice and flat) for my SU122…thanks a TON!!! Hopefully I will have better success this time around.
