will metal body airbrushes namely the badger 155 handle paint store thinner

i got a badger 155 and i want to shoot some paint store thinner through it for cleaning. i dont know exactly its composition cos its just called “thinner” on the label, but i do know that its VERY nasty, and im worried about it damaging my gaskets and rubber seals. i could go the safe way and use gunze thinner but gunze thinner is 12 bucks singapore for 250ml while the “thinner” thinner is 2 bucks for a liter.

If it’s mineral spirits or laquer thinner it won’t bother the o-rings or seals at all. All Badger brushes have “Solvent Resistant” o-rings and seals.

I’ve shot both through my 155 Reg… no probs at all!

oh yeah I forgot to add… congrats on the new AB!!! you’ve come a long way from that sprayer! you’ll love the 155 once you get used to it… a really nice and forgiving brush!

I use low odor mineral spirits to clean my badger 360 and havn’t had any trouble at all…

You’ll love the Badger
It will become your favorite tool.
Its an engineering work of art.

how about cellulose thinner ? this stuff melted a pair of surgical gloves [:S]

Cellulose thinner is lacquer thinner. No problem spraying it either.
The only area you do not want to get the thinner is in the trigger area as the o-ring in there is rubber and can swell and crack.
The needle bearing is PTFE (Teflon) and can handle that thinner with no problems.
