Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has seen a model for any wildland fire engines?
Nope, it will be a build it yourself project, but not as hard as you would think.
Are you looking for a pickup based engine or one of the larger medium duty types?
I would like a F-550 or something about that size. See I fight fires in the summer and build wildland models in the summer. I converted a Cobra gunshipe into a CAL-Fire water drop ship last year.
So do I, well except I mostly build in the winter.
SSB resin has a Ford F550 crewcab, it is only listed with a rescue body but he will sell the cab seperately. The rescue body might work for you though. His stuff isn’t cheap but it is good quality.
Another less expensive option is to use a diecast truck for the cab and chassis. I built this one using a Testors Ford F350 (same as the Maisto F350 but disassembled as a kit). This was the build that really got me back into modeling about 8 years ago.
