Beautiful man nice nice

Looking good Jason!!! I like that kit a lot… I just built one as a crossdressing Wildcat (FAA Martlet, in British markings) and it went together smooth! Thats really smooth exterior paint you got on there! good job!

Beautiful job on the pit so far. What are you planning on using for the seat belts ?

Regards, Rick

Yea, that is beautiful. And so many details. Pics like that makes me want to abandon 1/72, but then again…

Keep us posted /Johan

thanks guys
Rick I never give much tought to seat belts I really have to try some pe one day
Jason

Kind of a shame to put in that much work on a cockpit & leave the seat without belts.

Regards, Rick

Verey nice work! Anything Grumman is OK with me. Can’t wait to see the finished pics.

Nice job. Almost makes you hate sealing it up in the fuselage!

Nice pit Jason. I love Wildcats. Makes me want to go get one.

Jason,
Nice job so far, man.
There are a lot of sources out there for PE bit for either WWll U.S. Navy seat belt hardware, or there are PE sets for the entire seat belts designed for your specific model.
Have a look at them - you’ll find they’re easy to use and add a great deal of realism.

Though I use PE seatbelts purely out of laziness, before we had them, and only the hardware was available, I used all kinds of materials for the belts, from masking tape to my favorite, lead foil from wine bottles. These things still look more realistic IMHO than any PE seatbelts. Who makes the best hardware? Well, if you’ve never seen Waldron’s jet seatbelt hardware, you’re really missing something. They come in three different thicknesses to give a 3D effect to such things as the five-point buckle for, say, French jets, and the lap belt hardware for American jets. Waldron also makes a great fret for WW II belts.
I recently received Eduard’s set of WWII Italian harnesses. Boy, talk about weird! Instead of leather or webbing straps, they used chain! Can’t duplicate that with lead foil.
TOM

Looking great so far, keep posting pics of your progress.

thanks again The seat belts I am going to try and see what I can come up with
Jason

Very nice work, Jason! I have the kit in my pile and everything I’ve heard about it is good. I plan on doing mine OOB too, and would be very happy if the cockpit comes out looking as good as yours.

Mark

Nice job Jason, I really love what you’ve done on the pit. I’m just about to start one of these babies for Tom’s Midway GB and you’ve really inspired me.

Cheers
