Here’s a new link showing what you get in the HobbyBoss Wildcat F4F-4 1/48 box, I hope it’s helpful in some way, shape, or form. [:)]

Squadron had them at some insane price like $7 a few months back. I grabbed three of them. It’s a very nice looking kit. I’ve heard a rumor that Hobby Boss is a division of Trumpeter. The two HB kits I’ve seen look a lot like Trumpeter kits. The F4F-4 looks like a cross between the Trumpeter 1/32 kit and the Tamiya 1/48 kit. The HB TBF looks like the Trumpeter 1/32 scale kit shrunk down.

I picked up one from Squadron at the price also, just couldn’t turn it down!
I bought two of their F4F-3s a few months back as builds for the kids. They were around $25 each, and I wouldn’t pay that price again. Surface detail was solid if on the heavy side. Cockpit detail was outstanding but looks very suspiciously identical to Tamiya’s F4F. Wing and lower fuselage fit were nasty, and both cockpits had to be replaced with vacform since 1) they were too thick to be posed open and 2) misaligned with the windscreen and fuselage spine.
I’m assuming the F4F-4 has the same issues as the -3.
At $7, yeah that’s probably too good to pass up, but anything much beyond that and I’d buy the Tamiya kit instead (picked mine up for $10 last October).
