Why...

…are Fujimi kits so hard to find???

I’ve only ever seen ONE on a store shelf, a gorgeous MiG 21 that I found on consignment at the LHS. (So it wasn’t even something the shop owner had brought in) No North American distributor I assume??

Ya know, I’ve only seen a couple Fujima kits, and I bought one of them-a 1/48 FW-190D-9 that was a clear out at Michaels when they were closing. I’ve read several harsh comments regarding that kit, but I went ahead and built it anyway. It looks pretty much like a Dora to me, but what do I know? Compared to my Eduard D-11 kit, it does look a bit under-sized however.

I’ve been more interested in their jet offerings, such as the Phantom and Skyhawk, which I have read are very good kits…seems like they aren’t to be had anywhere…Is Fujimi still in business???

Fujimi is still in business, Dragon USA is their distributor in the US.

Hmmmmmmmmm…I’ll check the DragonUSA site…thanks…

Okay, virtually EVERY Fujimi aircraft kit listed in the Dragon inventory is OUT OF STOCK…

To be honoust I thought that Fujimi was out of business,
I’ve heard from a couple of shop owners that they don’t produce anymore.

Maybe it’s just here in Europe that you can’t get 'em or something but…
I could be wrong though, I’m just saying what I’ve heard so far.

With regards, Ninetalis.

Manny, I think your best option might be the Hobby Search or Hobby Link type of Japanese sites, the last I looked at the actual Hong Kong Cyber-Hobby Dragon site, they were almost out of Fujimi aircraft

if anyone is getting them, it would be the Japanese distributors for sure

yeah, Nine, that was a thing going around for a while, hobby shops were telling people that Fujimi was “out of the business”

during the heyday of that rumor, I bought almost all of my Fujimi kits(about 75% of my 70 kits) from the Hong Kong Dragon distributor, and could have got some from the Japanese sites

there are some here

http://www.hlj.com/

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/

www.cyber-hobby.com/shop

www.sealmodel.com/ericyymodel

all 4 of those have different ways that you have to search for Fujimi, but, all 4 have kits for sale

Rex

But I didn’t want any and the LHS didn’t have any and couldn’t get any so it wasn’t some sales talk they were selling me…

right,that is how it works

if “famous wholesale company A” doesn’t have any, and your LHS has a contract to get their kits from them, then “I can’t get any , they are OOP” is all an LHS knows to say

meanwhile, as I said, everyone with a modem (back then),could get as many as they wanted online, just as I did (at the same time, people were saying Falcon was OOP also,I got my conversion sets from them during that time period)

I don’t know how your LHshops work over there but mine doesn’t have a budget for deals like that.
He’s happy if he’s able to just sell stuff (he’s wee bit lazy to).
And yeah but it’s not because something is OOP it means you can’t get anything for the first couple of weeks, How long has it been since Accurate miniatures has gone upside down?
I still see there kits in every store I visit…

Yea you can get some from guys here and there but when those are gone then they’re gone.
We actually talking about Fujimi not making anything anymore, not if some online shops/LHS still have some in stock…

Fujimi is still in business

There were and are rumors that they aren’t,but, they are (I only listed those 4 places after checking to see if they had some of what Manny wants, and to help him)

the places I listed are places that get the kits and sell them, even though there is not a distributor in the US, and maybe none in Europe, right now, they are being distributed in Asia, I don’t know if they made a conscious decision to only sell there or not, but, they still do

Like that, hmmm,
Yea okay if you say so…

what does that mean?

do you have some vested interest in having Fujimi declared out of business?

I really don’t understand

here, their website http://www.fujimimokei.com/newitem/index.html

I can’t read Japanese, but, one of the links on here is the What’s New page, and it shows what is new at Fujimi for September 2012

and now, since I don’t know what I am talking about,I am done with this

Rex

Whoa guys!!! What’s going on in here. I really don’t understand the fighting over this. I DID read every post (lol) and I can’t see why you’re jetting so upset, Nine. I guess it’s possible that you feel like a shot was taken at your LHS proprietor. I didn’t get that impression though. You know it’s possible he just repeated information he’d been given. I don’t see how he could run a shop and not have a deal with a distributor who isn’t able to get Fujima kits. I assure you he isn’t supporting his business buying retail and selling. Unless he’s up marking like crazy.

Bottom line guys is let’s be civil here. This is silly thing to let drive a wedge in out little FSM family!!

Jeesh Tarn calm down man, I meant it in a good way as okay I believe ya, you don’t need to get so pissed off on this.
Also, what do I care about my LHS? the guy is lazy and nagging the whole time about nothing,
I don’t even understand why HIS shop hasn’t gone upside down yet.

But if he says that something isn’t produced anymore than I believe him,
He’s a good guy, not one that feels the need to rip you off like others I know.
and it wasn’t only my (and other) LHS who said it but fellow modelers, so give a guy a damn break!

And I wasn’t pissed at all, I said you were right, you just seem to feel the need of thinking that I’m taking shots at you, and frankly, it’s just sad okay?
TARNSHIP you are right, you are right and I’m wrong, okay? got what you wanted now?!
Does somebody have to tell you straight up that he’s wrong and you are right before you get the feeling you want?

I said I THOUGHT that they were out of business yeah?
And if you had that website the whole time, then why didn’t you post it in the first place?

Geesh.

My LHS’s regularly have Fujimi kits in stock.
