I was spraying Chevy Engine Red Testors paint on an engine block of an AMT/ERTL '62 Thunderbird. This was from a spray can. The paint has yet to dry and it’s better than a week now. I washed the part and it was dry before spraying. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Is it warm enough to dry properly?
Mike
You might try putting it in the sun, or hitting it gently with a hairdryer. It sounds as if the solvents haven’t flashed off yet. If the paint is old, there may be problems, or if you put the paint on inordinately thick, there could be increased drying times. There could also be the problem of not agitating the paint can adequately prior to spraying, and the siphon hose drew off all the pigment from the bottom of the can.
Either way, I would go with some sort of mild heat for a few more days. Then, if you still have the problem, strip it off and start again.
