Why I love vendor tables!!!

Went to the Kalamazoo (MI) contest on Saturday.

Got 1st for my TBD and AH-1W Cobra(that’s all I took), but the best, was the vendor tables, super deals all over the place. And believe it or not (I hardly can, myself), I still came back home with $80 in my pocket.

anyway, this is what I got!!!

fermis,

Were you running a fever on the weekend? I only see one P-51. Great deals on the kits, this should keep you busy for the winter months.

Glad you had a good time and congratulations on the wins.[t$t]

How did your Salmon fishing trip go on the long weekend?

Great score fermis, and a Classic Airframes WI ANG P-51 for $5? [:D[ You lucky dog you!

And congrats for the wins, would love to see both of those builds in the flesh.

Tyhanks guys.

Yup, only 1 P-51, still have a mess of em in the stash!!!

The first salmon trip a couple weeks ago brought only 1 fish and a broken rod, I went up again this Sun & Mon, nothing to show for it except for another broken rod, don’t even know how that happened???

Some of the parts are already painted and assembled…not very well I must add, but should be easy enough to clean up. Looks like acrylic paint, kinda grainy looking, I got another one last spring that dude had started to try to clean up, maybe this winter I’ll knock out one of em.

Last summer / fall during a heat wave in western Alberta, Canada a friend fished while we tubed down the Red deer river. It was discovered to be a excellent way to cover many holes people cannot access any other way. ‘Float fishing’ was the term coined for this endeavor. Passing good places you were lucky to get two casts, some holes none as log jams & sharp bends in the river had attention on maneuvering.

Needless to say there were upsets, lost gear & one of my favorite fishing rods. One of the last trips down as thirst was taking over I found a full beer bobbing in a eddy that had parted ways from me a month earlier.

Full circle indeed!

I had fished that river most of my life and seen more of it in three weeks with better luck fishing than the previous 20 years!

Congrats on your wins fermis.[t$t] Glad to hear you had a good time. Looks like you got some REALLY good deals.

Fermis, how did you manage to break two fishing rods![:P]

Thanks, as for the rods, well, the first one was the fish (I use very light rods, much more fun when you get a 20 pound salmon), and the second, the tip snapped when I set the hook, good and hard, into the log that had attacked with extreme vigor. I think it was defective or already damaged, it should not have broken like that.

Congrats on the much deserved wins…Sorry ahout the broken rods that sucks I hate when that happens. I also enjoy light tackle much better fight.Good score at the vendor tables. I’m presently working on the Yak-1 (Accurate miniatures) that you sent me.Great kit thanks again.Hoping to shoot some primer on her today. Gonna enter it in our IPMS monthly contest for Nov. (winter warriors) be my 3rd try at a minthly contest and no wins yet… But then mystuff is no where near the quality of yours.

John

There’s a model show/contest coming up here in Austin in early October, and this has me looking REALLY forward to it!

Nice score fermis & congrats on the Awards.

Regards, Rick

You’re my kind of shopper, Fermis. Great nose for a deal! Our local show is coming up in a few weeks and you’ve got me primed and ready to go now!

Hey Fermis, congrats on the wins!

and the scores!

I have the Smer…M.C.72…, it looks nasty in the box, or at least mine did, It will build into a nice looking plane when done, mine had lots of flash, and the fit is well, umm… not… lol… but some patience and sanding… it looks sweet when done… I’ll try to post a pic of mine…

chris

T^hanks guys![t$t]

That doesn’t sound too good! I’m not at all familliar with Smer, these 2 kits were still sealed, so, no looking inside, but for a buck…why not!!!

oh ya… for a buck! sure its worth it…! Its a neet airplane, it held a speed record for a few years I believe…

Congrats on the wins Fermis and the scores. Too bad there aren’t any shows out here, at least none very close that I have heard of.
