Why I like the Spad (A-1 Skyraider)

I know this picture has been posted on the forum before but it still makes me grin. [:D] Click on the link to view VA-25 loading something extra for “Uncle Ho”…[:D]

Semper Fi!

Always thought Tamiya should have included it with their 1/48 kit.

Regards, Rick

Rick,

I’m sure craft stores have miniature toilets for dolls houses, etc… Add a little styrene framing and viola!..Ready for the bombing run!

Carl

Well they always said you could bolt anything but the kitchen sink under the spad. This just goes to prove it.

I don’t know if any of you noticed it or not. But, one of the pics on that page is the boxtop art to a Hasegawa re-box of the Monogram A-1H WITH the toilet bomb included in the kit.
I don’t know how long it has been out of production but, I would like to get my hands on one.

So far I have not been able to find a 1/48 pot - 1:12 or 1:24 sure -which are typical scales for doll house.

hmmm…maybe I need to check the polypocket stuff - needless to say, I am in the process of modelling this bird.

I’m 99.9% sure that I read somewhere, can’t remember where though, that they even dropped a kitchen sink from a Spad. Has anyone seen any pictures or heard about it besides me?

[:D][:D][:D] Never seen those pics before! Thanks for sharing them, if someone actually built a model of that one it would make a good conversation piece at the model club!

Reminds me of a great experience I had in VietNam involving a toilet bowl, but it’s probably not appropreiate to discuss it here. To bad, it’s a true story but involved helicopters. semper fi, mike

There is a famous story from WW I in which the British flew over the neary German airfield and dropped a chamber pot on them. Maybe that’s where this idea in Vietnam came from. Or was it the German’s dropping it on the English? Oh well, it did happen, and the story shouldn’t be hard to find.

Never mind that mate, just tell the [XX] story, right guys?

Mike,

Quit teasin’ and tell the story[:D]. I’m pretty sure we ALL have a few. [:D]

Carl

[#ditto] I second – or even third or fourth – the motion! [:D][:D][:D]
