Why are there no Italian soldier figures?

Can anyone tell me why there are no Italian figures out there? If I could make a wish, I wish that DML (my favorite manufacturer) would make a nice set of Italian soldiers. Italeri made some, but they weren’t up to par and the folgore were pathetic. Oh well, I guess I can always sculpt my own.

I felt much like you some time ago as my primary interest has been WWII Italian armor and vehicles since I first built the Tamiya M13/40 in the 70’s when I was a teenager. But where to find the subjects beyond the standard Italeri and Tamiya stuff thats been around for years? I thought it was non existant until I got on the computer bandwagon and had a look around. There is a wealth of stuff out there once you know where to look for it. I have ordered many Italian kits now over the years and find that Model Victoria is probably the best. Their figures are superb and I’ve yet to be disappointed with a single one that has arrived. I find them on ebay occassionally and always snatch them up.

Because they all ran away!

Oh no, I am going to get in trouble for this. Just think, I am Italian myself!

Great Models just posted these as a new arrival:

…because they hold the distinction of being possibly the only army in WWII worse than the french!!!
(and i don’t care if people get mad, cos it’s only fun!!![:p])

Got to http://www.chesapeakemodels.com and look under the Model Victoria Section, they have a lot of figures and heads, I think you’ll be pleased

Yeah I have to agree, an Italian diorama should be similar in construction to a French scene… many white flags, a long line of troops walking to prison camps, lots of empty wine bottles, crummy vehicles…hmm who wants to model that :stuck_out_tongue: (unless of course you model a real army in the distance coming to the rescue)…

good luck, have fun,

hmmmm… Muzzleflash, you’ve managed to insult two nationalities there - you have to realize, neither of these countries were prepared to fight a modern war. True, their hearts were not into it, but can you blame them after the terrible losses of the first world war?
