I was sitting here looking up some books for college this fall and heard a low flying multiengined aircraft… but it sounded a lot different than the usual radials of old C-47’s that fly around here. I ran out and looked into the clouds and saw FiFi go over around 1000’. It was awesome! FiFi, Lil and a P-51 will be at Tricities Regional Airport from Aug 16 to Aug 23 so come out and see them if you can.
FIFI… at Tricities?
Alright!!! I paid for a ride in “FIFI” at Oshkosh '76, and my hometown is Richlands, Va, about 45 nm NE of Tricities Airport… Shucks, my work obligations will keep me from seeing both, but give ole FIFI a rub for me while you’re there!

Richlands is pretty close to here. I’m in Nickelsville, I used to work as a medical courier out of Kingsport and had to take blood many times to Richlands.
Anyway since you are in central NC right now, FiFi will be at an airport even closer to you. Shes coming to Douglas Airport at the aviation museum in Charlotte from Aug 23 to Aug 30.
Thats really awesome you got to ride in her. A lot of the crew is on the B-29 yahoo group and I had been asking around to see if I could go as an extra scanner on the trip to Charlotte. But their insurance won’t let them take riders who aren’t part of the CAF now. Oh well… when I get outta school and get a decent job I guess I’ll have to join the CAF.
i just may havr to go over there tomorrow, or wed. or thur. or fri. heck, i may just go over there every day, i only live approx. 25 miles away.
having been a member or CWH i have had the privelage of seeing FIFI and LIL i also have flown in the CWH’s B-25 and before the devasting hangar fire i used to crew on the TURKEY (TBM 3E to you laymen) try pulling that prop through 13 blades speaking of Avengers does anyone know of any company that makes a 1/32 nd scale Avenger thanks guys/gals replies can be posted on britavenger@aol.com too as i dont get on this site too often [:)]
