Just goes to show that nothing is truly safe…

Man what a way to go. I’m still rubbing my neck. No RC helicopter for me.

[:0] Wouldn’t have believed it, if I hadn’t read it.

“It is well that war is so terrible, lest we grow too fond of it.”-R.E.Lee

Same thing happened somewhere in Arizona I believe when a RC plae struck the man who was flying it right in the chest!..I know it happened some time ago just cant remember how long ago…

RC Vehicles are dangerous…when I first got into RC car racing I was turn marshalling on the track and suffered a broken foot when I got nailed by a car…the thing actual hit me full force(knocked me off balance and I fell)…that was a few yrs ago.

We have had various accidents over the years at our club races…and heard of really wild ones from other clubs…Such as an 1/8th scale buggy hitting a jump and going off track and through a jeeps front window! Saw a picture of that on the RCCA boards last year!

Y´know, this is just an observation, but how come these things almost always happen in Texas? Also every crime/murder thing on Discovery channel also seems to be based on something that happened in Texas… That and high speed police chases…

texas it must be the sun…
Plastic can get dangerous too, especially if you replace nose pitot with hypodermic needle…lol

That is just plain bad luck. WOW!

Note to self…when flying an RC Helicopter, wear suit of armor

Everything happens in Texas because all of you states keep shipping us all your idiots. LOL

Anymore room over there? I have a bunch in this town that need to go…We’ll start with the circus show local politicians…

Eric you better be careful when you get your tank finished.

  • Ohio man run over by R/C tank *

  • “In todays news an Ohio man was mangled when run over by his R/C Tiger tank. Spectators report that the man stood mezmerized as the tank ran over him and then led police on a high speed chase down I-75 before running off into the Ohio river. The driver’s body, a Mr. Witmann from Germany, has not been recovered yet.” *

man didnt mean that i thought the movie was made up and me mates here r teeling me its true

apologies!

It is actually true, though it happened in Grimsby in England… Allegedly…

Just one more reason why I don’t like R/C stuff, and think it gives modeling as a hobby a bad name…
Let’s go through this again, people. Repeat after me!
R/C Kits are TOYS.
Model Kits are WORKS OF ART!

Hey, it’s better than:

Ohio man found strangled by “Stretched-Sprue”

run over by the tank? how big was it anyway? the “mentos lawnmower”?

The fact that models are not safe isn’t really news.

And then click on “dangers”.

How about taking it one step further, and talk about model BUILDING being dangerous! Many a time I’ve dropped my X-acto knife and watched it stick straight up in the floor, millimeters away from my bare feet! And then there are the lacerated and punctured fingers/hands. And then…
Gip Winecoff

Model building is dangerous because of the fumes from the paints and some people apparently don’t take enough precautions.

Don’t forget that the black smoke from burning plastic (like when streched sprue gets too close to the flame) gives off benzene fumes, a carcinogenic.
