Who makes WWII troop glider kits?

I just read an article in Flight Journal magazine about a D-Day’s pilot experience from signing up to D-Day and It got me curious about kits available on the subject. I thought there was a Testor’s kit of the HORSA.

Testors/Italeri made the Horsa and Hadrian in 1/72nd scale. I believe both are out of production but you can find them regularly on-ebay. I built the Horsa and have the Hadrian on my to be built shelf. They both are decent kits with good detail. There is also a Italeri C-47 in D-Day markings that could be used as a tug as well. I built the AC-47 version of that kit and it also is a decent kit.

Italeri produced a 1/72nd scale Horsha glider, and a 1/72nd Waco glider. Both of these were sold under license by Testors. They have not been re-released for many years so you will have to find them through swap meets, e-bay, or through collectors. Or, you can wait and see if they get produced again. Check with Sqaudron and/or Great Models web sites to see if they are still available, but I have not seen them for many years. rangerj

Sanger in the UK produce 1:48 versions in vac form.

Found a Waco from Italeri at the LHS today

Italeri made both in 72 scale, they get reissued every now and then in different boxings
