Who makes/sells a 1/48 Fairy Swordfish?

Does a 1/48th kit exist? I’ve been thru a couple dozen online shops…nothing…even those with searches.

If I can buy one it’s for the FAA GB.

Any help appreciated,

Nam

Tamiya makes a beauty. try Fairey.

Also maybe try Tamiya’s web site or better yet Squadron… www.squadron.com

If anything, worse comes to worse my Local Hobby Shop still has one on the shelf…

Good hunting…

Mike

Thanks…I’ll look further…a little vowel trouble I had there. Of course it’s Fairey…

And Butz…I have not called 3Guyz about the P-39…and darn, they have no site…but I will call them this w/e…but if they have none…I’ll be in touch.

Hey Nam,

Not a prob my friend… Come to think of it, I am not sure if 3Guyz have a web site. Something I should mention to them [;)] Again good hunting on the Swordfish. As I mentioned, I know my LHS has a 1/48th scale Swordfish.

I thinks its going for 40ish or so…

Flaps up,

Mike

If you don’t want to spend tthe bucks on the Tamiya kit and the extra photoetch rigging and such for it that Tamiya sells separately, there is always the ancient Merit kit in 1/48…[swg]

SMER have a MkII kit no 0818 in 1/48, at about a fith if the Taniya price, but I don’t know the kit at all
http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=SR818
search the site for swordfish & a goodley variety of resin & PE is available, but there is always other sites & your milage may vary…

The SMER kit is a reissue of the Merit kit which has features like moulded marks for the decals. Needs a lot of scratch building to make a decent model. The only alternative is the Tamiya kit although MDC did issue a resin kit.

Here’s a Tamiya 1/48 Swordfish Mk.I that I built last year.

It’s a great kit & I’d suggest adding the accessory PE fret for the rigging. Not an inexpensive kit however. Squadron lists the Mk.I at $70.00 & the Mk.II at $65.00 USD, both in-stock. The accessory rigging is about another $15.00.
