Who made BV141 kit?

I remember building a 1/72 Blohm & Voss BV141 (asymetrical recon plane that competed with the FW189) years ago. I’m trying to find the kit, to build one again, but was wondering if anyone knows who made it. I’m guessing Matchbox just because of their tendancy to offer the weird and wild other manufactures rarely considered, but I don’t know that for sure.

I just picked up a RoG B&V P.194 which is a bizarre Luft 46 hybrid jet / prop bomber with a similar asymetrical design and it re-ignited my interest in finding a BV141 kit.

Thanks

According to Google, Airfix made a 1/72 BV 141. Doesn’t look like their are any to be had, at the moment.

It’s an Airfix kit. Fond memories of that one!

There’s a 1/48 kit from someone in the Czech Republic too. I had the kit but sold it. 1/48 is too big for me…

According to Airfix they are re~releasing the BV-141 sometime this year. [tup]

Historic Plastic Models made one in 1/48 but they are pricey when you find one. I have been searching for one myself as this kit is on my “Holy Grail List”

Thanks, I was hoping it would turn out to be Matchbox (RoG) or Airfix since that made it more likely to be re-issued and it sounds like it will be. I can wait that will give me more time to practice with my airbrush and the different German camoflage schemes, and if it gets re-issued I can do it in a couple variations. [:)]

I think this is what you might be looking for Aaron.

I found it at an antique market along with a bunch of other old kits about five years ago. It is still sealed in the plastic. I always thought it was a cool looking plane. Someday I will get around to building it.

I’ve been watching for the HiPM 1/48th kit on ebay and they show up frequently. They keep going for more than I want to pay though. Last I checked last night one was at $57.

1/72 kit due to be re-issued by Airfix this year. Typical early 1970s Airfix - good shape, basic detail, heavy canopy framing, rivets all over the place. Series 3, so only £7.99.

Cheers,

Chris.

I too am waiting for this kit to be re-issued. [8-]

The Airfix kit has also been reissued bij Bilek. I have it in a bagged version:

I picked up the 1/48 one off e-bay a few years back for $20. I want ot build it but it has not got into the rotation.

Thad

I just finished building one of these.

The airfix kit. I bought it at a local hobby shop for about $12 canadian. It was an older kit, probably about 10-15 years old. I was at a model show a couple weeks ago and a vendor was selling one of the airfix kits for $18. Another had the 1/48 MPM kit for $48!

Its not a bad kit, but I will tell you the canopy fits like trash.

Just in case you were curious.

I posted some pictures of my Airfix BV141b on webshots.

Glad to see I’m not the only one interested in it.

Deeve, nice job on yours. I’ve read conflicting information but it does appear a dozen or so production aircraft entered service before the aircraft was cancelled in favor of the FW189.
