Aghhhh - my wife got into a mini cleaning mode the other day and decided to clean out the kitchen junk drawer. You know, the one where the spare garage remote goes, the postage stamps, spare pieces for the dog collar, car stickers, scisors, dental floss, note pads, chap stick, rubberbands from the newspapers, little peggie things that go in timers, sharpies, a few old receipts, wireless charger cords for ear buds and more. She spread it over 2 more drawers elsewhere! [8-)][bnghead]
Well i guess i deserve it for saying too often - theres too much junk in here! Now i have to look 3 places to find what im looking for.
Had one in the old house that was full to the top. When moved into new house we didn’t have enough cabinet space so we had a unit built with 3 cabinets above, 3 cabinets below and 3 drawers in the middle for the other side of the kitchen. Well, now we have 3 junk drawers (and we down-sized too).[*-)]
In addition to a kitchen junk drawer, we have two computer junk drawers containing line transformers, battery chargers, adapters and more cables than I can count. Most of the contents are probably obsolete, but who knows when we’ll need that special thing???
Of course there’s a kitchen junk drawer. It’s the drawer that doesn’t open because dead batteries, expired coupons, a rubiks cube, and a 1/2 dozen old cell phones are stuffed in there the thing can’t open.
You mean that yours doesn’t have a junk drawer monster? Ours does, it’s related to the carpet monster that eats my parts but it’s not as aggressive so we still have things in the drawer. I think the previous owners had it fixed at one point. I wonder what Vet. they used for that.
Yep, we have 2 and the built in where the old desk top PC was has become the junk cabinet. The wireless printer is in there so we also store paper and stationary. At the bottom you will find teaching material (the wife is also a teacher…high school English=lots of stuff) and old modems and routers. I need to organize but just don’t have the time.
My wife has a fierce proprietary interest in our kitchen cabinets and drawers. I am okay with that- she also has place in bedroom for stamps, paper clips, etc. For mechanical things, tools(non-kitchen) I have my own spots.
I thought it was a right of passage to have a kitchen junk drawer in the house? Seeing all these different replies I am now confused. And I’m not even going to begin talking about getting in my wifes drawers; that is for another place and time.
My wife and I are ike the odd couple (if anyone remembers the show). I am O.C.D. and she is NO.C.D. I believe she would have a junk drawer in each room if she could.
I am however rather fond of our junk drawer as it has items that you don’t need until you need it, and then it is priceless. I cannot begin to count the number of times I could not find something only to locate it in the junk drawer, like the glasses repair kit, the strange battery for the alarm sensors, magnetic tape, the allen wrench for the garbage disposal, the spare belt for the kirby, etc.
Yes I have one in the kitchen. Funny thing is, I seldom go in it except for scissors. No mind that the drawer is full of stuff that I might need one day. Cough.
