Who do I contact about busted parts from MPM...

I just got the MPM “Best Choice” SAAB JAS 39D. The kit is awesome! Only 999 kits are being made and I snagged # 593. The kit comes boxed with a COMPLETE set of accessories. Full cockpit, seats and all, burner can, airbrakes inside and out, pylons, wheel well bays, wheels, white metal landing gear, vacuformed canopy, cartograf decals…(inhale) and so on…anyway, my problem is this; I open the kit, examine the parts and to my surprise I found a floater in the box. One of the main linkages between the main gear leg and the wheel well is broken in half, a very small very delicate part : ( I got the kit through Squadron, the box is MPM, the kit itself is, to my understanding, Italeri’s plastic, I’m not sure who did the resin…who would be the best candidate for me to get in touch with about replacing the resin parts? Any info would be much appreciated!!

Get in touch with MPM themselves. The resin most certainly was made by the CMK arm of MPM so they are the same people anyway.

There are a couple of email addresses at the bottom of this link:

I’m not sure which would be best though.

good luck

Yeah that’s what I was going to do but when I tried to use the email links they wouldn’t work. Buuuuut…just for giggles I called up squadron to see what they suggested. Well, low and behold I spoke to a super helpful associate on the other end of the line in Texas. I told her my dilemma, she said to hold on for a minute, she would be right back. She comes back on the phone, says they have that kit in stock, opens it, takes out the part 2 parts I need and tells me I’m all set, they’re in the mail! How awesome is that?! There still is friendly, efficient customer service out there! So replacement links are in the mail…I like squadron[:D]
