I am researching M Whitmans tiger 1 Late version #205
does anyone know if this tank had the 25 or 40 mm steel plate turret roof? I have only seen one pic of it and it’s small it looks like 40 but not sure. thanks
I have a photo of 205 taken while on the road N316 to Morgny. It is not a close-up, but if I were to guess, it looks like a 40mm roof plate to me. I can see a dark shadow around the turret’s top edge, which I interpret to be the raised edge of the thicker roof plate. But it’s a tough call. [%-)] I can’t find anything on a production date for this vehicle. Production of 40mm roof plates started with #250991, starting in March of 1944.
Peridexion, hi thats the same foto i have it sure looks like a 40 but it’s kinda small:)

It is a late model, and we are in June of 1944 so I would think that its a 40mm roof plate. But I can’t say for sure though.
